2015 marks my official 5th year in business. A lil ol business I dug my heels in to create and grow is now turning 5, it’s kinda unreal.
At the very, very beginning, there was a girl who had her mind set. She wanted to build something that made her heart happy, something she could invest her time and make it her own. It never was as simple as that though.
My journey to building my business was a long and bumpy one. It was hard. Straight up, I’m not sure I’ve ever been so frustrated, and at times, disappointed in trying to make something happen. When I have a fire inside of me to make something happen, when it just sits well in my gut, I can’t just throw in the towel.
Often times, each of us are faced with obstacles in life that require us to dig deeper than we ever have before to simply, just keep going. We’ve been led down paths that have miles and miles of briar bushes until you get to the rose buds. To sum it up, we all have stories that have been an essential ingredient to make us who we are today.
In just these short 5 years, I’ve been touched by others who carry stories of journeys with them, I’m talking journeys many other people face or will face.
In 2015, I’m celebrating those people and their journeys in hopes to help someone else who is about to embark on a similar one. As Eminem put it:
“Cause sometimes, you just feel tired. Feel weak. And when you feel weak, you feel like you wanna just give up. But you gotta search within you. You gotta find that inner strength, and just pull that out of you. And get that motivation to NOT give up and NOT be a quitter. No matter how bad you wanna just fall flat on your face and collapse.”
