Going Up Hills


Run I’ve been running.

It’s the worst. I know some of you out there run for fun. I can’t understand why running would be considered fun. : )

Anyways, this girl has set out to run her first 5K next month (please say a prayer for me). My goal is to at least run 2 miles of it…if not all of it. Er. Yeah.

Determination. I was built with determination. I suppose it comes from my dad. And boy, does it come in handy when having to run uphill. Holy smokes, that’s terrible. But downhill? I’m a boss.

ChelseyBridals-100w While running, I started thinking how much work and how tiring it is to run uphill. Not just physically running, but in life.

Most of the time it’s not the mountains that make us want to stop for a breather because it’s usually the mountains we save our energy for. But the hills, oh the hills can be a hard tackle. One right after another, it’s hard to catch your breath.

It wasn’t too long ago I was battling hill after hill trying to build my little business. The hunger, the determination, the fire burned but dang, every bit of me was challenged to keep going.

ErinH-022w It’s so easy to get caught up in looking at the hill and not seeing how close you are to the top. Anything that’s worth the run, doesn’t come easy.

Oh no, sweat, legs burning and short of breath, you’ll have to fight every step of the way.

Then, then….you make it to the top. The journey alone can be more important than the end or the start but it’s YOUR journey.
